Female travelers: let’s talk about our safety

We are the ones who run the world, has Beyonce says, but there’s a reality that as much as we want, it’s still there: sometimes, we are the most vulnerable in certain situations: for example, when traveling solo.

That’s why I decided to share with you some basic and easy tricks that might help you feel even more empowered and secure when traveling alone. Let’s get on to it:

Are you an OCT (obsessive-compulsive traveler)? These items are a must for you

Uncomfortable when sharing tight spaces in a plane? Double checking if your fork and knife are clean enough before eating? Stressed when not having a bag with enough pockets? If you suffer or panic from all these, chances are you are an obsessive-compulsive traveler, or as we decided to prefer to call it: an OCT.

But what does this mean?

We invented the term “OCT”, based con the Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), a mental disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), and behaviors that drive them to do something over and over (compulsions). Often the person carries out the behaviors to get rid of the obsessive thoughts. But this only provides short-term relief. Not doing the obsessive rituals can cause great anxiety and distress.

24 hour restaurants in Panama

After a long hard day at work (those that take forever), Uly and I met up in order to enjoy something that we both crave the most at the end of our days, yes… that’s eating.

Since we were starving, we decided to look for restaurant options in Panama.

Between discussing where to eat (totally normal couple discussions) and heading late to our first option, it had already closed (it was way past 10:30pm!).

As latinos and part of an active travel community, we are sorry that the United States is poorly represented internationally by having such an individual acting as president of a powerful nation.

Is low cost really “low cost”? The RyanAir experience

We may assume that taking flights inside of Europe are expensive, but you would be surprised how low cost airlines are getting trendier than the fancy ones. In a first world continent going through a continuous decreased economy, things couldn’t have gotten better for RyanAir.

Flying from Madrid to Paris (1 hour 30 mins. flight) for only €40 are prices you would never even expect at your local airline. Although everything may sound like a dream come true, there’s always unexpected surprises (and I’m not referring a birthday surprise).
